95 Days Later...

gideon-zombie-med-color

....and still no zombies. Drat. On the bright side, the Internet still seems to be going strong, so I guess it wouldn't hurt to start writing again.

Where did I go? Not far. Trust me here, it probably wouldn't have been that great to blog all the exact comings and goings as they came and went. It's been interesting, for sure, but it has also been an emotionally draining 95 days. A lot of things changed, but I couldn't make heads or tails of them at the time, and most of it I still can't. But we all know at least one story that's been told (by us or another) that may have been better to been not told at all, or that should have been postponed a little in the telling. That's pretty much it in a nutshell.

So what good stuff did you miss? Well, I'll fill you in, but gradually. That way I'll have stuff to write about for a couple of days, at least until the zombies do decide to show up!

Some things you could look forward to hearing about:

  • How to install tiles or laminate flooring, or rather how not to install tiles or laminate flooring
  • Things not to do when considering buying new flooring, but at least make good stories for those who sell it to you
  • How dangerously important one's job and status can become, even if they don't like it one bit
  • A surprisingly good board game about railroads
  • The most possibly best card game in the world, and yet is almost guaranteed to repel anyone impaired blessed with double-X chromosomes (Hint: Nerds + Space - Women = Best Game Ever!)
  • Some great places to go on the web to waste your time, especially if you like doing puzzles for free (Here's one in the meantime that fits this post's theme -- it helps if your speakers are on for audio clues)
  • Yet another board game about building a flat cardboard city that for some reason, the ladies totally dig
  • My new favorite word: Pedantic
  • What the "Metagame" is, and why my wife is a pro at it
  • That board game designing competitions exist, and how one could lose at it three times but still feel accomplished
  • Who "Peculiar People" are, and how compelling they can be in explaining deep theology through theatric arts
  • An old guy called Steve Brown who is probably the coolest old guy in my book
  • How hiking is worth your time, and should be done more often
  • Why I think Leviticus isn't so boring after all, and would probably make a good survival handbook (doesn't mention anything directly about zombies, but gives some good rules of thumb on how to avoid being infected)
  • The best way to irritate me of which involves a moving vehicle and velocity change
  • How you'll be hard pressed to make me think U2's new album is worth listening to or how it presents the gospel in an exciting new way involving bad music and lyrics that say one thing but mean something else (you know who you are!)
  • The struggles of transitioning from a new Christian to an 'older' one, and why new wine and wineskins are pretty darn important (Hint: reference my new favorite word)
  • How I still don't think Obama is a bad president, even if France's president might have a man crush on him
  • Thoughts about my previous favorite political party, and some condolences I have for those affiliated with it (except for a few notables)
  • How unimpressed I am with dishwashers that aren't human
  • An upcoming book that I am totally stoked about!
  • Countless anecdotes about why God is awesome and I most certainly am not

Well, that's it for now. Peace and grace, folks. Here's to another 95 zombie-free days.

  1. I have also played a wonderful game involving railroads. I have considered purchasing it...

Hey, comment person. Write what you will here, but don't use actual names if you know them. I accidentally insulted a certain clan of ninjas years ago, and they've never forgiven me.
